Jersey Devil or Medusa?

This week we didn't take a trip to any theme parks, we were thinking to let our followers/viewers decide what ride they would like for us to show and review. We decided to give two options. The Jersey Devil coaster located in the Pine Barrens section of 6 Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ and Medusa which recently made its return replacing what used to be the Bizzaro ride located in the Frontier Adventure area of the same park.

Please use our poll and/or comment which ride you would like us to review on our next visit. You could also comment any ride or park (on the East Coast USA) that you would like to see us ride and review.

RipQurl (Discovery Bay)

RipQurl is a thrill waterslide for mini thrill seekers located in the Discovery Bay (small kids) are at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor New Jersey. We decided to do this one because we wanted to show that thrill rides ar not only for teens and adults but little ones as well. Xavier was not able to ride this one he was too big for the kids area. Izzy was just before the max limit so he was able to get on the rides. We chose to do the review on RipQurl because it is a miniature of the Tornado water slide. We did not do a review on that one because there is a minimum weight requirement and all three of us combined are still not heavy enough to ride (LOL!!) Izzy said this ride is pretty cool for kids who are afraid of the bigger slides but too slow for his liking. It is exactly like the Tornado water slide except much much smaller, cuter and not nearly as fast. Although it wasn't up to his standards, he gives it a thumbs up and an 8/10 of any smaller kids who seek thrills but are too small or too afraid of the bigger slides.

Jurahnimo Falls

Jurahnimo Falls is the scariest and steepest open water slide in Hurricane Harbor New Jersey. It is a 76 foot drop almost straight down as the rider goes from 0 to 40 mph down the slide. The slide has a minimum height requirement of 48" and a maximum weight limit of 250 lbs. It is considered to be one of the MAX Thrill rides in the park and not many are brave enough to take the drop. For this ride, both Izzy and Xavier were brave enough to experience the drop. They both admitted that they almost backed down but after what felt like a million steps to the top, they figured it would be easier to come back down through the slide. We tried to get a POV video of the ride but all we were able to get was a whole lot of water on camera. Both Izzy and Xavier enjoyed the ride and give it a thumbs up. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel the adrenaline rush through their body. Another one of my favorite rides of all time. The only negative on this one is that if you do not go to the park early enough, you will have to wait in line for quite some time and that is not something we really want to do in the hot summer sun.

The Hulk

The Hulk is a newer thrill ride added to carnivals and fairs. It reminds me a lot of the Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth at Six Flags Great Adventure. It is almost exactly the same ride except much smaller and the duration is much shorter. My godson Xavier was the rider for this one (You can see in the TikTok). The Hulk (also known as The Beast) is a thrill ride that holds up to 16 riders at a time. It swings side to side as a pendulum in the beginning while rotating the riders in a circle with each swing. It starts off slow and as it picks up speed in swings riders upside down and back down until eventually it picks up enough speed to swing them in a complete circle. Thrill seekers who are looking for a little extra scare should ride this. Xavier gave this ride a thumbs up and a 10/10. He says it's fun and scary at the same time and that it will cause some riders to scream.

The Zipper

The Zipper is a well known thrill carnival ride, it is considered to be one of the most fun and "scary" rides at a carnival/fair. The ride has a height requirement of 48" minimum to be able to ride and does now allow single riders. Each carriage in the ride can hold 2-3 riders at a time. There are a total of 12 carriages on the Zipper and the rotate a full 360 degrees while the ride itself is also spinning at 360, midway through the ride, it slows to a partial stop before swinging the carriages back in reverse. I chose to post about this ride in particular because it is the very first thrill ride I have ever been on and to this day remains one of my all time favorites. I highly recommend this ride for any beginner thrill seekers. I do recommend getting on with someone similar in size and height because when the door to the carriage closes, the bar will only go as far in as the biggest rider. I say this because my son and my godson rode together (as you can see on the TikTok video) and Izzy was not too happy about the way he was able to slide around in the carriage during the ride. I give the Zipper a thumbs up and 10/10 for carnival thrill rides. Izzy gave it a thumbs down and does nit recommend as an 8 year old 73 pounder.
